Keeping with our mission of having WritingHabit be the one stop shop for all writing activities, we’re thrilled to announce two powerful new features designed to elevate your writing and help you get the best feedback from editors and beta readers:

Suggest Edits

You’ve seen this one before. Similar to Microsoft Word's Track Changes or Google Docs' Suggesting Mode, this feature allows editors or collaborators to suggest edits to your manuscript without altering the original text. You stay in complete control, deciding which changes to accept or reject. Perfect for working closely with editors or critique partners while keeping your voice and vision intact.

Configurable Beta Reader Questionnaires

Readers give better feedback when they know what you’re looking for. WritingHabit now allows you to customize end of chapter questionnaires for your beta readers, specifying exactly what questions you want them to answer and which tags or themes you want them to rate. Whether it's character development, plot pacing, or overall engagement, you'll get more focused and insightful feedback. Tailor your surveys to your specific needs and ensure your readers provide feedback that helps. This pairs seamlessly with “chapter publication.” When you publish a chapter, the audience you’ve given access to will be able to access that chapter, and the questionnaire will automatically be presented when they reach the end.

Why These Features Matter:

  • More Control: You decide who can suggest edits, ensuring only trusted collaborators can provide input on your manuscript.

  • Better Feedback: Whether working with editors or beta readers, get the constructive, targeted feedback you need to fine-tune your work.

  • Customizable Insight: Use the beta reader questionnaires to dig deeper into the aspects of your writing that matter most to you.

These features are built with serious writers in mind—authors who care about their craft and want to refine their work with thoughtful, actionable feedback.

Keep crafting stories that matter. 🌟
